Hey ya everyone this is Mayank Bali. Hope you all are good, safe. Though we are habitual to the Delhi's high temperature, still it makes us feel low or exhausted π. So Drink water frequently and also try every possible way to save water. Here comes my another post
Tip : For better distinguish between before and after pictures, tap on the picture then at the bottom > tap on picture 1 and 2 accordingly , to swap between original and edited picture.
By now we had talked about many photoshoots and the idea behind them , the story , the setup , the thought , the location , the outfit, the pose and the last but not the least the editing breakdown or editing process.
But in this post we gonna talk about a picture which don't have a person featuring in it , it have just a sky having pretty clouds as subject which feels like to be moving . Cloud/Sky/ Nature lovers can raise their hands in the comment section below, if anyone wants to build a nature lover community in and for the comment section only. No We're not building a community in real π , but ya how can I forget! dog lovers are also invited in the comment section . Anyways lets focus on the post for now. So this picture is not a pre planned picture hence had not any special setup for clicking it. You just need your mobile phone and yours hands to be steady for this picture. So I was just going in to my room and saw the sky from a window and it looked pretty to my eyes , so i climbed the stairs up to my roof and looked for the perfect cloud to click a picture of and i found this one , you can try it with each and every cloud you wanna capture. Before we start i want you all to know that for clicking picture of clouds you don't have to go in the sky π , so keep an eye on surroundings also so that you don't fall from anywhere.
Camera settings
So I finally started using manual mode in clicking pictures, but had tried it in clicking a few nature photographs till now. And I'm willing to use it also for self photoshoots and clicking pictures of others (but they don't let me experiment with settings , they get tired of pose soonπ₯²) that's why i will prefer clicking my own photos for experimenting in manual mode or expert mode or professional mode whatever you say it. For now the camera settings i had for the picture are :
Shutter speed 1/16038 sec
ISO 106
White Balance : Auto
And aperture we can't change in phone
Editing Breakdown
1. Adobe Lightroom (Available on play store and Appstore ) :
At first in the light correction as it looked a less detailed picture I increased the contrast by +13 and brightness seems to be good so kept it as it as. Then to further highlight the clouds I decreased highlights by -9 which would change the brightness of brighter parts of the picture. Then in colour grading I increased the saturation by +16 and using colour mix selected the blue colour and changed its hue & saturation according to the picture, you can do it according to yours picture.
Tip - While saving the image don't use save to device option and either use "Export as" and set it to largest available dimensions for better quality and then export it as a preset, so in future if you want to know what you had edited in a photograph , you can simply check it by adding picture to the lightroom afterwards.
2. Snapseed (Available on play store and Appstore ) :
Then I increased the ambience of the picture by +12. Then blurring anything in this picture is not supposed to be done because its a picture of sky. If you had any thing in picture like a wall or any edge of wall in the picture you can remove it by using the healing tool and if needed can erase it from the parts where it seems not to be that good.
Tip: For better output quality click 3 dots , go to settings , look for format and quality and choose the value 100%
